InfoComm 2024: Barco ClickShare joins Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform

Barco ClickShare announced it is joining the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, and also new AI-powered capability that switches between the room view and close-up views of speakers

At InfoComm 2024, Barco announced two important developments for its ClickShare solutions. One change was that ClickShare’s future iterations will be developed using the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform. Earlier in the show, Barco had announced new concepts for hybrid meetings using AI. ClickShare’s experts are on hand to discuss the developments at booth #C5309 for today’s final day of the event (June 14).

Jan van Houtte, EVP meeting experience at Barco, said: “ClickShare remains focused on bringing a simple, premium experience to meeting spaces. We will continue to create innovative experiences, while leveraging Microsoft’s expertise in security, manageability, and AI capabilities. We are pleased to accelerate our defined partnership with Microsoft, expanding beyond ClickShare’s integration with Shared Spaces.”

Juha Kuosmanen, head of MDEP at Microsoft, added: “Microsoft and Barco share a common emphasis on designing solutions with enhanced privacy, accessibility, and manageability excellence. We are proud to welcome Barco, a leading player in the BYOD rooms, to the Microsoft Development Ecosystem Platform community. We are confident that its future developments will be a catalyst for their continuous success.”

ClickShare’s latest concept for hybrid meeting experiences using AI was announced earlier at this year’s InfoComm. With the introduction of smart camera and audio switching, ClickShare combines the meeting room camera with the integrated laptop cameras of in-room participants.

The AI-powered capability switches between the room view and the close-up views of the speakers, depending on the dynamics of the in-room conversation. This way, remote users get a better view of the group discussion and non-verbal cues, leading to a more equitable meeting experience. This new concept will be released in 2025.

Oliver Van Camp, product Management Lead at ClickShare.“From its very beginning, ClickShare has designed meeting room solutions with simplicity and user experience at its core. We have been continuously innovating to bridge the gap between remote and local participants in the hybrid workplace, bringing the ultimate collaboration experience to every BYOD room.”
