IBC: IP showcase returns to the water

The IBC's 'IP Showcase on the Water' will be on Amsterdam's canal cruise boats from 10am to 4pm, September 15, featuring six one-hour cruises for 35 attendees with expert presentations

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Audio Engineering Society (AES), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), SMPTE, and the Video Services Forum (VSF) have announced that the IP Showcase on the Water will return to Amsterdam during IBC2024, which is being held September 13 to 16 at RAI Amsterdam.

The IP Showcase on the Water will take place on canal cruise boats from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, September 15. The one-day event comprises six one-hour cruises. Each will accommodate up to 35 attendees and feature two 20-minute sessions from top experts, for a total of 12 presentations on a wide range of IP-related topics.

The event took its maiden voyage in 2023, with an impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation, solidifying the IP Showcase as a pivotal IBC event. The positive feedback from IP Showcase on the Water 2023 supported the return of the event in 2024.

Andrew Starks, marketing work group chair, AIMS, said: “The success of the IP Showcase on the Water 2023 underscored the transformative impact of IP technology in both the broadcast and pro AV industries.”

He added: “It was inspiring to see the innovative solutions and collaborative spirit on display, demonstrating how far we’ve come and setting the stage for an even more connected future. We’re very excited to set sail again in 2024, with an even bigger boat.”

Boats will be departing from Strandzuid, located near RAI Amsterdam at Europaplein 22, 1078 GZ Amsterdam. Further information about the IP Showcase, including recordings from previous presentations, is available here.

The IP Showcase is committed to educating attendees at major industry events on the business and creative potential of IP media solutions. The ongoing focus is on market requirements as media operations move toward all-IP connectivity and content delivery to multiscreen platforms.
