ZeeVee CEO Bob Michaels announces his retirement

In an open letter, Bob Michaels, the CEO of ZeeVee, a provider of AV-over-IP solutions, explains the reasons behind his decision to retire at the end of the year

ZeeVee CEO Bob Michaels has announced his retirement at the end of the year. Michaels write a letter explaining the reasons behind his decision, including the reassurance provided by the company’s recent acquisition by Kramer, and more personal matters, such as a desire to spend more time with his children and grandchildren.

He wrote: “I am writing to inform you that I will be retiring and leaving ZeeVee at the end of this year. Life and career decisions do not come easily and I’ve arrived at this one after long consideration. In fact, the topic of retirement has been a source of discussion within our family for quite some time.

“Prior to making the decision to move on to that next stage in my life, it was important to make certain that our employees and brand were in good hands. I am confident that our acquisition by Kramer provides that assurance, which makes this a good time to take my leave.

“I have been fortunate and blessed to work with some of the brightest and most capable people in the AV sector over these past 12 years. The work ethic of my colleagues at ZeeVee has been an inspiration to me and their dedication and commitment to the cause drove the brand to the top of the leaderboard in AV-over-IP solutions.

“I am especially proud of the intense focus and effort of every employee through and after COVID that allowed ZeeVee to come out of the pandemic in such a strong position.

“I owe many thanks to the numerous people throughout the industry for their friendship and guidance. To our customers, thank you for the trust you have placed in the company and me and for your crucial role in ZeeVee’s success. I have a deep belief that ZeeVee will continue to be a world leader as a portfolio brand of Kramer.

“As many of you know, time is the most valuable asset we have. My wife Toni and I want to be able to spend extended time with our children and grandchildren who are spread across the globe. This is now my priority and I look forward to stepping back and sharing in their growth and the future chapters of their lives. I’m also considering consulting opportunities, which will allow me to share the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years with the next generation of business people and leaders.

“For me this is not an ending, but a new beginning. As I venture forward, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”
