Aimed at both the residential and commercial market, Lutron is showing off its Sivoia QS Triathlon WIDR roller shades. These are large, battery-powered, wirelessly-controlled shades available from 0.5m wide x 0.3m tall, up to 3.65m wide x 3.65m tall, providing, says the company, smooth, quiet, precise and convenient daylight control for large windows. According to Lutron, these shades offer industry-leading long-lasting battery performance and clean, elegant aesthetics and can be part of a HomeWorks QS system, operated by keypads or using the Lutron iOS/Android app, or they can form a simple stand-alone system controlled by a simple remote control.
Lutron is also talking to ISE visitors about what it claims is its expertise in LED lighting. In this era, where LEDs are now the dominant source for lighting, Lutron claims that many installers and integrators find swapping ‘old technology’ lamps over to LED lamps isn’t always a straightforward task: they often experience flicker problems, circuit breaker tripping, or other compatibility difficulties. Lutron notes that it has a long history of controlling many different light sources, and the LED revolution is no exception. The company is offering a free lamp testing service (so far, Lutron says it has tested over 2,000 different lamp SKUs) to ensure that a compatible selection can be made for its projects. The company has established an LED Centre of Excellence.
