Innovation Park brings startups together

ISE has always been a hotbed of innovation and entrepreneurship – but this year the subject is brought into sharper focus with the launch of Innovation Park.

ISE has always been a hotbed of innovation and entrepreneurship – but this year the subject is brought into sharper focus with the launch of Innovation Park. This is a show feature specifically for startups with breakthrough business ideas – and it’s supported by a programme of content sessions on the nearby Pitching Stage.

ISE Pitching Stage

Located in Congress Square, at the heart of ISE, Innovation Park features dozens of exciting startups, at the forefront of innovation.

Many of these forward-thinking companies will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions next door on the Pitching Stage. There will also be a programme of success story presentations and pitching sessions, programmed by startup venture capital experts Plug and Play. These sessions will explore the latest trends, emerging technologies and forward-thinking strategies that are shaping the landscape of investment and innovation.

Innovation Park also includes a Matchmaking Area for networking and discussions between startups and investors. It will host a networking event at 17:00 on Tuesday to Thursday, sponsored by Ignite by Midwich, EIT Culture & Creativity and Barcelona Activa respectively.

Sara Cebria, events project associate at Plug and Play, commented: “We noticed [at ISE] last year that the exciting innovation that was present at the show in the form of startups seemed to be dotted around the halls, which made it more challenging to find.

“If you really want to promote innovation, you have to dedicate an area to startups alone, to allow investors to know they will find what they need. That is the purpose of Innovation Park at ISE this year.”

Innovation Park is complemented by ISE’s inaugural Investor Forum, which takes place on the morning of Tuesday 4 February.
