It can now be revealed that Void Acoustics’ audio systems, including the Air, Venu, Stasys, Indigo and Cyclone ranges, have been installed and customised at Onkel Willy’s Hutte, a restaurant and ski hut with stunning views in the resort of Schladming high in the Austrian Alps.
The venue, also known as a party haven, needed a powerful sound system capable of filling the outdoor space and withstanding the harsh Alpine climate for the latest winter season. Freezing winter temperatures presented unique installation challenges for the speakers in the outdoor dining areas, as did the limited electrical supply up in the mountains. Alongside the outdoor speaker challenge, the venue’s indoor spaces also needed a sound system capable of creating the perfect atmosphere for diners.
Musikuss Tonkultur, Void’s official distributor in Austria, recommended a combination of products from the Air, Venu, Stasys, Indigo and Cyclone ranges to deliver a sound system that could be customised for the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Cyclone series installed on the terrace is designed for outdoor spaces due to its compact size and weather-protected IP-55 rating. Air Vantage and Stasys 218 speakers are also installed around the outdoor section, whilst the Indigo Pro and Venu speakers inside the hut offer cater to diners.
This setup also delivers on the venue’s DJ requirements for peak-season events with a maximum capacity of 400. When the hut needs to crank up the volume, it brings out sets of Airten V3 and Venu 215 speakers that are reserved for larger events.
The owners say the installation has been a success, attracting more visitors and solidifying its reputation as an apres-ski destination.The venue already has plans to add more Void Acoustic’s audio systems to the current set-up.
