L-Acoustics upgrades audio for Jönköping Konsert & Kongress

The first installation of the L-Acoustics L Series in the Nordics was part of a major rebrand and upgrade of the Swedish venue, formerly known as Elmia Konsert & Kongress

L-Acoustics audio have been installed as part of a major upgrade to the Jönköping Konsert & Kongress entertainment venue, in Jönköping, Sweden. Formerly known as Elmia Konsert & Kongress, the venue was renovated and rebranded before reopening in November last year. Jönköping Konsert & Kongress boasts the first L Series in Sweden and in the Nordic region.

The installation of the L-Acoustics L Series concert sound system was intended to solidify its status as a premier destination for cultural and corporate events. Those events are diverse, ranging from congresses and corporate meetings, to performances of stand-up comedy, musicals, and concerts. The venue’s centrepiece, the 1,000-seat Hammarskjöld Hall frequently sells out.

Installed by L-Acoustics certified provider and integrator JLE Audio, the system consists of two left/right hangs of one L2 over one L2D, which provide clarity and advanced directional control across all frequencies. Four KS28 subwoofers are flown centrally, with an additional four KS28 placed on the floor to provide low-end extension, while eight X8 coaxial loudspeakers are used for front-fill and two for under balcony fill.

Amplified controllers driving the system include four LA7.16i for the L series, two LA12X for the KS28, one LA4X for front-fills and one LA2Xi for under balcony fills. The whole system feeds from one P1 processor through a Milan-AVB network.

The renovation was a collaboration between JKPG Fast which owns the property, Elmia, and Destination Jönköping which manages the space.

Johannes Jonsson, CEO at JLE Audio, said: “We are thrilled that Jönköping Konsert & Kongress has invested in such an advanced sound system. The L Series offers many unique features and delivers incredible resolution. We believe this installation sets a new standard for sound quality in the region.”

Camilla Fritz, head of concert operations at Jönköping Konsert & Kongress, concluded: “This upgrade not only enhances the quality of our events, but also strengthens our reputation as a leading cultural and corporate event venue.”
