Biamp delivers race-day clarity at Ascot racecourse with Tesira DSP platform

Tesira DSP and TEC-1 control panels provide "flexible, intuitive audio management" across more than 50 zones at the venue in Perth, Australia

Biamp has announced that Ascot Racecourse in Perth, Australia, has significantly enhanced the quality and flexibility of its race-day audio experience by deploying a Biamp Tesira DSP platform and TEC-1 wall-mounted control panels. The upgrade modernises the racecourse’s extensive AV infrastructure, ensuring every call and announcement is delivered with exceptional clarity across more than 50 distinct audio zones.

Renowned for its high-stakes horse racing events and electrifying atmosphere, Ascot Racecourse relies on crystal-clear race commentary to fuel excitement and maintain the momentum of each event. However, its legacy audio system had become unreliable and outdated.

“The old audio system was an absolute nightmare—heavy amps, interference, overheating, and frequent breakdowns,” said Jessie Ash, AV manager at Ascot Racecourse. “The Biamp system is the unsung hero of the Ascot Racecourse experience. It ensures every call and every announcement is heard clearly, creating an atmosphere that’s unmatched. It’s more than audio — it’s the heartbeat of our venue.”

To address the need for greater reliability and ease of use, the racecourse utilises the Biamp Tesira DSP platform for “seamless” zone control, user-friendly operation through Biamp Canvas software, and compatibility with AVB, Dante, and analog input sources.

“With Tesira, Ascot gained an intuitive and highly scalable platform that streamlines audio processing and control,” said Joe Andrulis, executive VP of Corporate development, Biamp. “From the roar of the grandstand to the quiet focus of the members’ lounge, our technology helps ensure that every space delivers an optimised, immersive, and overall extraordinary experience.”

Designed to evolve with the growing needs of Ascot Racecourse, the Tesira system also supports venue-wide or targeted paging with configurable priority levels—an added benefit for operational updates or urgent announcements.
