Visionary to debut D5000 decoder as it reaches 30th birthday

Visionary will debut its D5000 decoder, which provides the core capabilities of its D5100 in a more economical format, and the company will also unveil updates to its PackeTV IPTV System

Visionary, a leading global innovator in the AV-over-IP industry, will celebrate its 30th anniversary at ISE 2025 with the introduction of the D5000 decoder and significant enhancements to its PackeTV IPTV platform. Attendees can explore Visionary’s D5000 and PackeTV IPTV at its stand, 2W800.

The D5000, a compact AV-over-IP decoder, is the latest addition to Visionary’s 5-Series lineup. Designed for projects prioritising streamlined functionality, the D5000 features a simplified I/O set, a single HDMI output, a single PoE Ethernet port and RS232. By providing the core performance capabilities of Visionary’s D5100, including native AES67 audio support, in a more economical format, the D5000 is intended to represent a balance between functionality and value.

Scott Freshman, chief operating officer for Visionary, said: “This year’s ISE is particularly special as we celebrate Visionary’s 30th anniversary. Over the past three decades, we’ve built a reputation for innovation and reliability, and we’re excited to continue that legacy as we unveil the D5000 and our latest advancements to the PackeTV IPTV platform.”

He added: “The D5000 redefines cost-effective performance for AV-over-IP applications, while the new enhancements to PackeTV IPTV are designed to create a powerful, intuitive tool for integrators. We are excited to unveil the D5000 and PackeTV IPTV at ISE 2025 and showcase our commitment to delivering simplified, high-performance AV-over-IP and IPTV solutions that address the evolving needs of our global customers.”

Visionary has also introduced significant upgrades to its PackeTV IPTV platform to provide enhanced functionality, a more efficient workflow, and extended control. Key improvements include a new template-based workflow, allowing users to create and distribute unlimited playout designs without additional licensing. The company says PackeTV also features a revamped admin portal that introduces a modern interface to enhance usability across all core functionalities.

PackeTV IPTV now features template-based designs for user interfaces. Visionary says the scheduling engine has been reimagined to simplify workflows for tasks like recording, signage scheduling and playlist management. Additionally, PackeTV IPTV now features robust analytics capabilities, presenting detailed insights through tables, graphs and other visual formats. PacketTV IPTV also now supports Red Hat Linux environments alongside its existing support for virtual machines.
