The show is now underway, and so too is the largest content programme ever presented in ISE’s 20-year history. In addition to the regular conference programme, thought leaders from AVIXA and CEDIA, partners including the Catalan AV Cluster, Barcelona City, AFIAL and Impulsa Talentum Foundation, as well from ISE’s exhibitor community, are all contributing to ISE’s most comprehensive programme of free content.
The regular conference programme has been augmented with the inaugural European/Latin American AV Summit (Wednesday-Thursday, CC4.1), the first conference to explore the opportunities available to boost audiovisual business between the two regions. Speakers include the Mayor of Barcelona City, Jaume Collboni, as well as senior figures from European and Latin American governments and trade bodies.

Free to Attend Programme
There is an extended programme of free content sessions across seven locations including the ISE Show Floor Theatre (Hall 4), AVIXA Xchange LIVE (4G300), CEDIA Smart Home Technology Stage (Hall 2), and the Plug and Play Stage in Congress Square. Just off the upper walkway, the ISE Partner Stage in room CC5.3 features sessions from pro AV thought leaders and industry innovators, including Barcelona City and the Catalan AV Cluster. Among the topics covered are:
- The UNICEF/ITU project to get every school online by 2030
- The latest developments in implementing IMPX, the emerging AV over IP standard
- 3D avatars in AR and VR
The ISE content programme is spearheaded by three keynote speakers who will share their different experiences of delivering memorable experiences using AV technology on the ISE Show Floor Stage in Hall 4. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, an Oscar-winning documentary maker and film director (Song of Lahore; A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness; Ms. Marvel) will explore how AV technologies are redefining the art of storytelling in the Opening Keynote (today at 17:15).
Jeroen van der Most is at the forefront of integrating data, algorithms and artificial intelligence into his creative endeavours, and his ‘Breaking Boundaries with Creative AI’ session tomorrow at 17:15 will take the audience on a journey into his mind using AI. He will also run a live performance artwork called Bee Barcelona on the new transparent LED screen on the façade of the Fira’s South Access at 12:30 and 19:00 tomorrow.
Thursday (13:15) sees Sofia Crespo providing insight on the projection mapping that she created for the façade of Barcelona’s Casa Batlló last weekend. Entitled ‘Structures of Being’, the piece was set to reinterpret and celebrate the iconic Gaudí building and will be replayed on an LED display at the ISE Creative Cube exhibit in Hall 4 (stand 4F625).
The Free to Attend programme includes the increasingly popular Tech Talks and Tech Talks Español which take place on the ISE Show Floor Stage in Hall 4. Tech Talks highlights include Technology Innovations of the 2024 America’s Cup with Stephen Nuttall (today at 14:40); United Visual Artists (UVA), in conversation with Jose Luis de Vicente, Artistic Director, DHUB Disseny Hub Barcelona (tomorrow at 16:20); and Digital Humans, with speakers from Metropolitana, Union Avatars, Hyperreal, and Futura Space (Thursday 16:30). Tech Talks Español covers a range of subjects such as AI, virtual production and the evolution of technology including the metaverse and XR.
AVIXA Xchange Live (stand 4G300) is presenting four days of interactive sessions with a different theme each day:

CEDIA Smart Home Technology Stage (stand 2F350) is offering a full programme of engaging discussions and learning and networking opportunities. Highlights include:
- A cybersecurity perspective on AV
- RP22 Immersive Audio Design Recommended Practice
- Opportunities in sustainable business
It is also the location of the ISE Stand Design Awards presentation at 16:00 on Thursday.
Leading innovation platform Plug and Play is hosting the Plug and Play Stage on stand CS540 in Congress Square. You’ll find talks and discussions from big players in the industry, sharing the latest scoop on investment strategies and game-changing innovations, plus pitch sessions from Discovery Zone exhibitors and other startups.
Spanish trade association AFIAL is bringing its AVL Summit to ISE for the first time on Thursday 1 February in room CC4.1. Included on the programme are in-depth case studies from the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, MotoGP and the Eurovision Song Contest.
On Friday, the Impulsa Talentum Foundation is hosting the Audiovisual Talent Summit in room CC5.1. The summit looks to provide tools, trends, and strategies for attracting, engaging, and promoting talent within the AV industry.
