Peerless-AV Showcase announces record exhibitor numbers; Day 1 “very busy”

First day (May 14), of the AV Showcase event at Lords cricket ground, London, saw a record 50-plus exhibitors kicking off proceedings, ahead of day two, today

Peerless-AV’s AV Showcase enjoyed a successful opening day on 14 May, at Lords cricket ground, in London, with more than 50 brands showcasing on the showroom floor, a significant rise on last year’s 30 brands, according to Beky Cann, director of global PR, Peerless-AV. The show’s second day is today (May 15).

“We’re in our fourth year now and it feels like a firm fixture in the calendar. Every year we get more brands signed up and more visitors to the show,” she said. “It was very busy today on the showroom floor.”

One innovation at at this year’s show was to run the education sessions in the middle of the show floor. “We’ve previously had technical workshops running alongside the event,” Cann added. “But this year we did something different. On day one, we had Michel Bouman, from Microsoft, delivering the keynote speech on the show floor, then we also had Greg Jeffreys from Visual Displays giving an education session.”

Another successful new event on day one was a LadiesLove2Learn Cricket Lesson, run by a professional coach from Middlesex cricket club. “We had 30 ladies in AV learning the techniques and playing cricket and they loved the session,” said Cann.

On the second day, 15 May, Ben Barnard from AVIXA, will speak in the same place at 10am, followed by Sarah Cox of Neutral Human.
