As the future of video technology continues to move toward digital, the need for longer high-speed cabling becomes even more essential. With this in mind, Covid recently introduced a variety of products that are intended to solve DVI cable length restrictions.
These products are said to provide high quality DVI signal transmission and are very cost-effective compared to other similar solutions.
Norm Carson, president of Covid, commented: “While DVI has its obvious benefits it also comes with some problems. One of these problems is the signal length restriction associated with most standard DVI cables. Covid now carries several products that combat these restrictions. We recently added a DVI extender over CAT6 cable, which allows for signal extension up to 165ft. We also have DVI over fibre optic cabling that offers signal extension of close to a mile.”
Customers can order CAT6 cable lengths that fit their needs and the detachable DVI transmitter/receivers to complete any size of job. Covid also offers bulk fibre optic cables that can be self-terminated to any acceptable custom length, using the 2LC or 4LC DVI extender products.
ISE 2013 also sees Covid highlighting its SLIM line of HDMI cables. These new SLIM-HDMI cables deliver a compact and flexible option opposed to standard HDMI cables, which can be difficult to use in a tight bend radius. They offer support for 1080p60.
