CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) is providing more opportunities for CEDIA ESP and Trade Supplier members to build relationships with architects and building industry professionals through participation in its recently expanded CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme.

CEDIA members who have completed CEDIA’s CPD training session can be considered as presenters for the RIBA CPD approved ‘Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes’ course which will be running at seven CPD roadshows this year. The course will be delivered in Belfast 24th April, Dublin 26th April, Nottingham 17th May, Glasgow 11th October 2007, Maidstone 14th November, Cardiff 15th November and London 21st November.

Additionally, CPD training will also be taking place at exhibitions and events throughout the year, and building industry professionals will also receive CPD points for attending the annual CEDIA Expo trade event (25-28 June 2007, ExCeL London).

CEDIA’s CPD Training course will take place at CEDIA’s St Neots Head Office on 6th March (fully booked) and 17th April (spaces available), giving previously ineligible CEDIA members the chance to present the ‘Designing Integrated Future-ready Homes’ course. The course is free of charge.

‘Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes’ is a customised CPD course from CEDIA. Recently revised and updated, the course offers architects, specifiers, developers and other trade professionals the opportunity to gain a comprehensive and clear understanding of the key concepts behind audio-visual, lighting, security, HVAC, blind control and other technologies in the home, their integration and the structured wiring solutions required for all these applications.

CEDIA is a member of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) as a Manufacturer Network Provider which has boosted the visibility and credibility of custom installation. RIBA CPD accreditation gives CEDIA’s ‘Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes’ course increased profile and value as an intrinsic element in the professional development of architects and building professionals. Already, thousands of architects and designers have learnt about CEDIA through this course and CEDIA members report that belonging to CEDIA is increasingly a requirement for selection in specification and tender documents.
